The 959 – Porsche’s First Supercar

Keeping the basic 911 shape yet taking into account the increased performance of the 959, the stylists added flared fenders for the wider tires, more air inlets for the brakes and a permanent rear deck wing for increased traction, all wrapped in a sleeker, more aerodynamic body. From the side, it is easier to distinguish the 959 from the familiar 911.
